I have a 1953 Chevy truck and I installed a later model 235 with a short shaft water pump but I feel like the fan sits on the lower side of the radiator. I bought the radiator with the adjustment holes so it is as low as it will go . I feel like the fan should be more centered and a little higher . If I let the truck sit to long at idle it will start getting to 220 . Is there any think I can do or to use a better fan other than the original 4 blade ?

Given you location, you’re facing a very typical overheating issue that arises using a shortened stock style water pump on a 235 swap into your truck.

A better solution is to use an adaptor plate (and the original 216 water pump), designed by a fellow Member Pre ‘68 Dave and offers a pump relocation kit that will put the water pump in the correct "sweet" spot for getting that engine in your truck and providing the best cooling.
