That seems like a really odd, expensive to build, and complicated to assemble method. Lots of seemingly good ideas get replaced. I think they went with long vertical bolts in 63..... and SHIMS!

Or one stud and two matching bolts, rather than 3 different fasteners.
Studs come in multi-packs. I used the same bellhousing & starter setup on the 454.
