Picked up a 46 Chevy 3/4 Ton today for the Evil Redhead from fellow Bolter KirkT in North West Oklahoma. What a great couple Kirk and Kim are. Had a good time at a local BBQ place chatting with them. But anyway, Vicki has not seen it yet and I hope she likes it?
I will be stopping by GDads house in KC tomorrow to show him and talk a little about the September Roundup.
Don
Edit: Well for some reason my Pictures will not post, I will try and figure that out latter. Right now it is time for bed and a 9 hour drive back home tomorrow.

Great news that you finally managed to go get the truck Don! I'm looking forward to your swinging by the house. I'll see about helping get some pictures posted. See you in a few hours.

Don just finished his quick stop at my place to show off his truck and share his news before heading the rest of the way home. The truck was purchased from fellow Bolter KirkT who first posted about his truck in the Welcome Centre.
Here's how the truck looked today in 10 quick pictures. Am sure Don will share more on his better half's new truck soon - LOL!

Got home about 90 minutes ago after a 992 miles round trip to northern Oklahoma with Vicki’s new 46. Does she like it? All I got out of her is it’s rusty. Well folks, that is only surface rust. A little light sanding and some kind of clear coat and it will look great. Runs good, stops good and sounds solid. The main draw back is the 4 speed crash box with a top speed of about 45 MPH. Thanks to Dan for meeting up, do a Roundup planning coordination and he got my I-Pad to post some pictures.

What's the matter with Vicki? That's not rust it's PATINA.
That's a nice looking truck. You don't find them like that very often.

First thing tomorrow is to get some insurance on it and the VIN verification then maybe tags for it Tuesday. Sorry Alvin and Craig, I don't think Vicki liked it, so there may not be any cookies at Townsend.

I don’t know yet Nathan, I have not read the numbers or checked the books, I do suspect it is a 216 that runs good. The front and rear main seals are leaking pretty bad and I will live with that this summer along with the 4 speed crash box. In the meantime, I will be researching a more user friendly tranny and maybe engine to be changed out this next winter.

Got the historic tags Thursday and then on the new lift today. Yes, I installed a new two post 10,000# lift this past winter and I am loving it! Anyway a big thanks to Kirk and his wife Kim for letting me get this gem of a truck. After looking it over on the lift, I am amazed by the lack of rust. Kirk got it as a barn find, saved it and got it road worthy again. Thanks again Kirk, I will call you once in a while to talk about the 46 and Machining. I plan on showing this at the Southern Stovebolt Jamboree and the MBA Roundup this September. Still need to get Vicki some White Castles and hope she will still make some of her cookies for Townsend.
Here are a few pics of it on the lift, for some reason I cannot post any of the outside pics. Don

Is that your shop? It looks enormous. I am soooo jealous! Congrats on your find. Vicky will love it after you paint it. Has she picked out a color?

Don & Vicky, congrats, that truck looks like a wonderful find. Getting it back on the road will be awesome.

Ronnie, it is street legal now, but it does need some work to get it road worthy. Tim and I are at the lake right now and he got real excited when we got off 54 going into Eldon and seen those old Chevy trucks in that lot. Let me know if you get down this way.
