With Spring right around the corner I thought I would "Stir" the pot and generate some ideas. Most of us have local "Mom & Pop" place we frequent, why not set up a "Meet and Greet" with some fellow Bolters. Alvin and I are working on something in SC in late March, just a meet up and hang out. We are going to meet up at a BBQ place that none of us have been to, Wives and Family are more the welcome to join in.

If you know of a place or have a favorite "Greasy Spoon" then share it with the rest of us, you just never know what will happen..

Bozo’s BBQ in Mason, TN. I found it quite by accident whilst on a parts shopping mission. Cool place. Been in business a LONG time. I think in its current location since the late 30s? Parts of the Johnny Cash movie were filmed there.

Strawberrys BBQ in Holcomb, Mo. (I know MO isn't technically on the list of southern states, but trust me, Holcomb is very much the South.)

Their smoked pork steak is the best thing you will ever put in your mouth. People drive a LONG ways to visit this place that isn't on the way to anywhere.

I guess I am not a Gourmand, just like I don't drink and drive I don't like to drive a long distance to eat. My father loved food and he would invite the family to his house 2 1/2 hrs away and then we would drive another hour or so to a restaurant that had an all-you-can-eat seafood on Friday nights.

I was cruzin' around online and found this place. Aunt Sue's in Pickins SC. Just the fact that they have an AD flatbed on site makes it COOL, not to mention the live Bluegrass. This place is going on the list!

Going to try this again. I stopped by one of favorite Mom and Pop's Burger places the other day. Ronnie's Restaurant in Pooler GA, just off I-16 at Hwy 21. Ronnie's has been a staple in the Savanah area since the early 70's. Ronnie's was one of the usual places to eat when going to the races at Ogelthorpe Speedway. The race track is closed now but Ronnie's is still going strong.

Ronnie's has great Burgers and Chili Dogs, their Steak Fries and Onion Rings can't be beat. The Milk Shakes will freeze your brain. Ronnie's has a Gasoline and HotRod theme. You can enjoy your Burger and listen to 50's and 60's Rock and Roll.

Well Folks I have another to add. "Crossroads Country Buffet " in Orangeburg SC. The Manger and Staff were very accommodating to our group. The food was great and a good variety. The Peach Cobbler was fantastic.

This place is in Orangeburg.CrossRoads Country Buffet & Seafood Restaurant

I'm down for all of the above breaking of the fast places! Here in Charlottesville we have Wayside Virginia Fried Chicken, my order was my Daddy and I's favorite, Chicken Gizzards! Pass the hot sauce!
