ok guys i opened anc cleand out my vac wiper motor on my 48 now it swipes good, problem is i need a new gasket for it mine tore in 2 places, emailed the "wiper guy" and he will not sell any gaskets, wants 80.00 plus to "rebuild it" same as i did for free..... question is can i use what gasket i have left then seal the outside with silicone??? guess wiper guy plans to rob anyone who like old trucks... bummer.... will silicone work?

Why not get a sheet of gasket material from the flaps and cut one yourself???

carefully put it back togather and wiped a thin layer of clear silicon around the housing seems to work fine, how tight should the "flapper" be? will install it this weekend and see how it works...
