Just saw where you have a JD 420C. The 420's were made from 1956 to 1958. You can check what year it is for sure if you still have your serial number tag. I have a JD 435.

Interesting you mentioned that. On my `67 C-50, I noticed that the front suspension isn't hard on bumps, but the rear suspension is. This is w/ no additional load added. I found that the lower rubber shock bushings are rotted to the point where the shocks are hanging from the top mounts & serving no function. The shocks are severly rusted & I was thinking replacing the shocks will be necessary. Maybe I can get away w/ just replacing the rubber bushings. Maybe I'll try that.

My 64 GMC has shocks I'll see if I can find some numbers on them for you. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | I have driven several of my trucks without shocks, 1.5 or 2 ton springs up to 45 or 50 mph shocks don't seem to make much difference. Much faster and shocks make a noticeable difference, at least in the front.
