It is quick and easy. Put a plastic bag over your distributor and generator, however.

| | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,001 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,001 | I’ve used gunk and other degreasers successfully. But my residential HVAC guy advised me to use a product called Mean Green on my compressor coils because it is safe for animals and other living things.
I was surprised how well it worked-just spray it on and hose it off.
I’m not saying Gunk and products like are not safe for animals and other living things, because I don’t know. But Mean Green is an alternative should it suit your desires.

Get a hand-pumped garden sprayer and some Trisodium Phosphate powder from the local big box hardware store. Mix up a strong solution of TSP and water, spray it onto a warm engine, and follow up a few minutes later with a high pressure flush with a garden hose or a pressure washer. The stuff is designed to lift oil stains from concrete- - - -it does a really good job of cleaning up an engine. Walk away from the job for a while before trying to start the engine, to let any residual water on electrical components evaporate- - - - -about a six pack's worth of time works well for me! www.ebay.com/itm/355446625402?Jerry
