I talked to a guy the other day who has one and he thought it was an anomoly just because he hadn't ever seen one before. I told him I'd seen plenty but I could tell he didn't believe me. Of course he cut it up to make a 4 dr pickup anyway....

I've owned close to 30 of them, & only 3 of them, were 5 window cabs. I've noticed most of the time, if it was a 5 window cab COE, it was either a Roadtractor to start out, or it was usually a '47-'49 model. My one COE started out as a 3-window, but was seriously molested before I got it. And yes its going to be modified further someday...

It's true. Additionally, the COE was pretty rare on its own. People didn't order options as easily, so most of the COE's that had van bodies or something like that couldn't use the corner windows to any advantage, so they didn't order them,
My dad had a 48 COE wrecker with a Holmes Wrecker Body. That's what I learned to drive a truck in. The corner windows were cool, but they really didn't serve much purpose. The driver's side was too close to use and the passenger side was at enough of an angle that it didn't really help.
I guess that that's my take on why there weren't more built.
