Help.....I bought a set of signal lights for Bertha and I need to get the plastic insert on the arrow. I'll need all 4 of them. Who sells them, I cannot find them on Classic Truck.

never seen that piece repro'd, but if anyone has them it'll be a big truck/bus parts house, not the light truck repro vendors, they're an aftermarket thing, not GM .... might be able to fab something yourself

You might be able to get them from a school bus and cut them down if they are too big...when working with old iron, gotta think outside the box sometimes..

what make of light do you have

Good luck! I've been working the swap meets and ebay for a few years now trying to assemble a good set of the Signal Stats and the plastic lenses are find to find by themselves. Saw a few sets of nice, complete lights (the fronts) at Macungie for $100/pr

As I have not found anybody with NOS or replacement lenses, you will probably have to resort to doing what I have done and that's to start collecting lights until you have enough salvageable pieces to put together a complete light set (I'm outfitting two trucks, so my shop is starting to look like a light shop ...).

Just make sure you know which model light set you have (or want) as even among the Signal Stats, they vary and the arrows aren't all the same.

And there's more makers than just Signal Stat (and they all look sortta alike until you develop an eye for them).

It's kinda fun going for these lights... There's more I could tell ... maybe after I've gotten mine

I have four signal lights that I took off the firetruck if anyone is interested. I'm not using that type anymore.

Look at the picture link below to see what they looked like when on the firetruck. No cost unless shipping is alot...

VaFireTruck, I am kind of interested. My truck came without signal lights and I really should put them on. Yours would be 6 volt but I could change the bulbs. I am sure I can find the other parts somewhere.

You can't beat the look, of a set of, G.M. "Guide" D68 glass lens turnsignals.

I don't really like them although my trucks never come with the cool lights, just some junk replacements. I rework the park light with a dual element socket and use it as my turn signal lenses. I've done two of them so far, looks better to me, but I think a little different than most,

John, I had sent Bill my address but if I choose not to use them I will send them on to you. Scott's idea of reworking the parklight sockets sounds interesting. The rear already has double contact for park and brake lights.If I hooked a signal to each side of rear could the current travel back around to the other side thru the brake wire?
Also now I am very curious about Spanky's suggestion of GM Guide D68's.
This old truck came without signals or heater.
We will have to find a heater before cold weather. I told my son to use arm signals when turning and he wanted to know what that was? HA!

My latest one was a 54. I found that if you cut apart a '60 - '72 Chevy P/U tail light assembly and remove the socket, it's exactly the same diameter as the hole in the front park light housing. After the socket is cut free from the tail light, open the peened over flange until it will fit into the park light's housing, then peen it back down. Wire it up and you're done. On the 47 - 53's, I just get a dual element socket from a parts house and weld it in place of the old single. No "lollipop" turn signal on top of the fenders!
