The largest are less than 30 miles away. They are James Dean-themed. One in Gas City In. And a few miles further on Is in Fairmount In. The same weekend. Just Google Indiana car shows. Frankfort In. Has one every weekend in the summer.61.0 miles. I am guessing at this point that the Smoky Mountains Nationals will be my last long-distance show.

Well folks we are just about 6 weeks out to the Show and Jamboree. I hope everyone has made their plans and gotten lodging. I will start a new thread later this week as a count down to Townsend.

I'm really looking forward to meeting up with all of friends and making some new ones as well. Stay posted...

I'm getting ready. I'm derusting my trailer. Bought it new in 21 and the powder coating is failing. Rust started scaling under it. I'm wire brushing, treating with phosphoric acid, then going to paint with Master Series silver paint. Follow up with a good topcoat. It'll be done in time.

So far I am still going . No lodging booked as nothing is 100% . I will be driving my backup lodging should I fail to find suitable accommodations .
I would only need a place to park then .

see you then

John, That would be great! I always look forward to seeing you and Marie. Linda and Megan will both there this year, along with Archie's Linda, Don's wife Vicki, Wayne and Nelda. I'm really hoping that PaPa Joe's wife Mary will be able to make it. I told Linda that she could plan a few things for the Gals to get out and do, Townsend has a lot going on. Alvin keeps threatening to bring a Lady friend, so we'll see.

Nelda isn't going to join us this time. We have a Granddaughter that is quite successful with a dance group. She has her last performance of the year the same weekend and one of us needs to be present.
We have always partcipated in Grandkids events. You only get 18 summers with them before they take off on their own and then it becomes almost impossible to get together.

Ok so I had booked a couple nights at the Townsend Gateway for 5/30 and 31 since I was coming from south Ms. I am going to have to cancel because I have grandchildren will be staying with me during that time period at my house. I’m not sure the hotel policy but certainly don’t mind trying to coordinate it if someone is needing a room for this period. They may work from a waiting list. PM if interested we can try to coordinate.

Not to sure Marie will be joining me after all.
I'm not sure I'll be heading straight home after the weekend, there's a couple things I'd like to see first and she's not keen on wondering aimlessly ( her words ) until I get the erg to head north again.

I've changed my lodging to the Mountaineer Campground. I'm hoping to meet up with Tuts and group on Wednesday, then convoy to Townsend on Thursday.
