Congrats to Mike B for winning the Best Appearing Antique Fire Apparatus trophy in the Hollywood (MD) VFD 50th Anniversary fire equipment parade!

Here's the proud trophy winner! -- Well deserved, brother!

Check out Mike\'s truck in the Gallery!

Here\'s the rest of the competition The second place truck is the '59 Ford/Maxim to the left of my '65 GMC so as you can see Mike had some pretty stiff competition. Next to that one is the '65 Young-bodied Ford owned by Gary, the guy who drove me to get my fire truck. Gary's truck came out of the Fruitland (MD) VFD and the cool thing about that is my son-in-law's step dad served on that dept and worked that truck.

Fun Parade!

Congrats Mike!

John

Nice job Mike, way to save a little history. John, thanks for including the pictures of the other engines at the meet. I would love to have a fire engine.

Old Dominion Historical Fire Society is having a muster in Waynesboro Va at Ridgeview Park on September 15, 2007. There should be several trucks there.

Hi Mike(51 Ashton), I tried to link you a GMC resque squad from Ebay that looked interesting. Did you see it? If so, what did you think?

Bill, is that the one that looks similar (darn near identical) to the unit that was at Macungie this year?

yeah bill, i saw it. it was a 620 and mine is the 720 big truck cab. the 620 had no pump that i could tell and no elevating light tower as mine has.

it's was a major project and too costly to drive with the 426.

Yea, I wasn't sure but I thought it looked similar anyway. I'm pretty sure you don't see too many like yours. Its a beautiful piece thats for sure. We were checking it out at Macungie, very cool.
