All the smaller sizes are produced by specialty companies and are priced accordingly,

I can live with that. Seeing how I will be taking a 2 1/2 ton and shortening the frame, pulling out the tag axle, and actually doing a 3" lift, I don't think the height will make any difference.

In actuality, it will probably weigh nearly 20,000 lbs when loaded with all my tools and equipment, so the speed shouldn't matter much.
