I need a larger tank so I'm pulling the in-cab tank out. I plan on saving it just in case my kids or a future owner wants to bring it back to original later. I'd love a large tank, between the frame rails.

After I installed the filler the company came out with one that was a locking one but it did not fit the filler hole I already have. The name escapes right now. Sometimes I regret it because it makes it a little tail heavy but I like the inside storage where the old tank was.

My '47 has a rectangular shaped tank mounted outside the frame rail. One of the gallery pictures shows it, although it's not a real close up. If need be, I can check and see if I have a better picture of it. | | | | | Joined: May 2023 Posts: 25 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2023 Posts: 25 | Thanks, y'all. Correct, 1961 2 ton flatbed dually big bolt. I'm trying to stay inside the frame if at all possible.

A lot of manufacturers & retailers list 1955-1959, and 1963-1970, completely skipping 1960-1962. Anyone have any information or guesses on why this is the case?

This will make the frame different where the torsion bars mount, but I wouldn't think that would effect the installation of a frame mounted fuel tank. | | | | | Joined: May 2023 Posts: 25 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2023 Posts: 25 | Thanks, 3B. I've given up for now. I had ordered a tank off Amazon but the fit wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, so I returned it. I'll keep moving with the other parts of this project and circle back to the fuel tank later!

It has a splitter valve that is on the floor but it has of course seized up but for my truck I am doing it as cheap as possible so I actually bought a 18 gallon boat tank and installed it on the side of the frame. At some point I am also going to be cleaning out the in cab tank to use with the saddle and do some electrical wizardy and have a switch and a relay to run to the fuel gauge and a solenoid valve. But if you just want the in frame fuel tank I know late 90s 1 ton fords you could get a 40 gallon tank in them so might be worth looking into.
