It was a long rainy drive home, but we made it. Arrived about 9:30 PM. Safe and sound.

Not home yet but made it to south east Missouri and an overnight at a hotel. Took Vicki to one of her favorite restaurants, The Pilot House on the NW edge of Cape Girardeau. During the meal, she gets a text from her cousin, wishing her a happy birthday and then told me.

Guess what?
I had completely forgot about it. Going to be a long, cold, four hour drive back home tomorrow.

Wish me luck!
Don

I just rolled in to the home front a few minutes ago. I stayed overnight in Crossville Tennessee last night and Archie and I pulled the cylinder head off "46 Texaco" today. Yep- - - -it had a blown head gasket, so I'm going to do a valve job (probably replace the exhaust valves, at least) and check the head to see if it's warped. First time that engine's been apart in over 50 years! Great to see my bolter friends again, and add another layer to the scrap heap in the process!

Just walked through the door, a little before 10 PM. Long drive but a great weekend. A big thanks to all of you who joined in and made the whole thing a blast. More later, a shower and bed for now.👍

PS : A Big Happy Birthday to Vicki, Linda said she didn't forget..🎂 grin

Vicki and I also just got home. Spent last night in Cape and going to kick back some before we unload and start mowing what little grass we have' with the drought conditions.
Picking Tim up Tuesday night and the saga continues with the Midwest Bolter's Association.
Check it out and please comment!

Not really Craig, we were at her favorite restaurant at the time, when she told me, I then had to pay dearly.
But, it didn’t hurt too bad?

Getting ready for Tim’s pickup late tomorrow night. We both have bail money, so all should be good?
