Just curious, does anyone have a Big Bolt rigged with a fifth wheel and a trailer to go with it?

Check spanky's gallery pics and webshots page. If he hasn't finshed modifying he has a COE tractor no trailer with it. I've seen some at shows and let a 47 second series tractor go to the junk yard years ago before I thought about restoration.

Spanky...that photo is soooo cool. I love the old trailers as much as the trucks. Is it yours? What brand is it, a Trailmobile, Graham, Fruehauf, or ??? I remember the carnival coming to my hometown is the 50's with rigs like that. So cool!

I think it's a '40's Fruehauf. That picture was taken of my COE back in the late 60's, or early 70's when the second owner still had it in Indiana. How ironic, it was purchased new, by a gentleman, that ran concessions, at Carnivals, back in the 50's. The second owner used it to spot storage trailers. I never could find a trailer like that, so I've recently removed the fifth wheel, & saddle tanks from it. Plan to install a period correct Holmes Wrecker, on it.

Even more ironic...I grew up in Indiana. Was the saddle tank a true saddle type with a tool box over the frame? Wow!

Had the Snyder tank on it, that's in the second link above, when I got it. I don't know what type of tank is on it, in that first link. It was purchased new at Couchman Oldsmobile GMC, in Lebanon, Indiana. The 'ol fellow that purchased it, also had a '51 GMC 350 series COE tractor.

It would nice to have one of those trailers. If I had one I'd have to restore it using that shiny corigated metal like on the 50s diners.
