Glad you added the image. (I had just downloaded it from the t-shirt that was in your link. wink )

Here's a link showing some images when searching: "2023 Smoky Mountain Nationals truck show" ...

That's a great poster!

Dang, that sounds fun. Townsend is our preferred place to stay when we take the family to the Smokies.

Been looking for another road trip deadline to get me focused on the truck again᠁.

JW, I agree! If you have FB look them up on there. They have a ton of pictures from last (their first) year’s show. They have a couple cruises through town. The town changes all the traffic lights to green on the route, and the town folk all come out and cheer as they go by. It’s almost an AD truck parade!

By the map, it’s only about 20 miles more than the trip to KC I was working toward last week. Tougher miles, however.

I’m really thinking about it. Don’t care much about entering my truck in the show, but the road trip would be a cool challenge.

Put me down for a maybe, that would make nice little vacation for the wife and I.
Won’t have an AD though.

I’m not much for entering into “shows.” More of a cruise night guy. But a hangout with some fellow boosters would be worth the trip. And the fee seems reasonable enough that I could enter just to have a place to hang out.

Dad and I went last year. Good show in a beautiful area of the country. You can see how this show could really grow because of the location.
Not sure we will be able to make this year as my daughter's high school graduation party is schedule for that weekend.

I read this from the bottom up and thought no way, I was remembering staying in Pigeon Forge when nothing was going on and it was a nightmare. Maybe just maybe. And yes I would drive the truck. Not the first time I have been down that way.

From the Townsend side, you can enjoy the National Park without ever partaking in the all the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg nonsense. Townsend is pretty chill.

I might try to go if the timing works. Unfortunately I won’t be bringing my 53.

Highly, highly recommend Little Arrow Campground in Townsend. It’s owned by some folks we know, but I’d recommend even if it wasn’t. They have cabins or “glamping tents” for those not into tent camping or pulling a camper. We have a pop up and have been out there a few times.

They do stay pretty booked up. Might already be for all I know.

The adjacent KOA is almost as nice and has cabins, too.

We will be staying at the Highland Manor Inn, in Townsend. Arriving on Thursday and leaving Sunday morning.
Looking forward to seeing y’all there. wave
