Hello to all, new member from PA. Just received my grandpa's truck from my uncle that decided not to do anything with it. It has been in storage since 1990. Looking forward to all the info and knowledge here. The plan is to get it back to road worthy condition and slowly redo items as money and time allow. I'll post pics soon.
Thanks to all in advance

Meanwhile if you need assistance with getting it on the road, the Shop forums are the place to ask your questions. There are tons of Stovebolters who are eager to help you.

Family trucks are awesome (I have my Grandpa’s 1951 - 3100)!!!
Glad to meet you and that you are able to keep the truck in the family.
Looking forward to pictures and future conversations. ðŸ‘

The truck my Uncle had on the farm was his 51 chevy car. This was in northern Maryland in the early 50s. Good luck it is a long-term effort, hang in there. My son has no interest in my 54 3100 and I am sure his my granddaughter does not either.

Got engine running this morning. Discovering a lot of PA rust. There is definitely a long road ahead. Found lots of frame rot. My plan was to get this thing road worthy over the winter and just enjoy it over the summer. There is a lot of structure issues as well as electrical.
Neat truck, very interesting bed that doesn't look original, but I like it. Is there any lettering on the tailgate? Just curious what make the bed is. Seems to fit the truck well.

As long as it runs and stops... take it for a short "shake down" cruise on a near to your garage bumpy road.. if it doesn't fall apart... keep on driving!
Another quality post. Real Trucks Rattle HELP! The Paranoids are after me!
Welcome. I grew up in York county and I don't remember seeing trucks when I was little. I mean pickup-style trucks. My father drove a stake bed he had a box truck later on that he drove for a company in Baltimore. BTW I love the color combo/

Not only the bed but the rear fenders are from a Dodge as well.
Like Ford , Dodge used the same stepside bed and fenders for a long time.
The bed and fenders on this truck were used by Dodge from 1953 through the 1970s
