AND I just got home about 30 minutes ago. Tagged TuT all the way to within 4 miles of my house and he's on his way on down to Ga.... It rained on us just about all the way and traffic was bad and sloooow.

...don't ever let TUT talked to you about riding with me at 94 mph......he was going 80-85 today, while pulling a golf cart

Got home about 45 minutes ago no issues and traffic was light. Did not go the Illinois route, but crossed the Ohio at Cairo and the big muddy at Cape. Dropped off the tranny and parts to JW51. Then north I-55 on the Missouri side to St. Louis and then west home.
NO CONSTRUCTION!
Left the cabin just before 6am and drove in our yard at 4pm.
Eating Colliflower and ranch dressing for dinner. Then nap time till I go to bed.
May give a trip report tomorrow?

John, how'd you get to the great white north so fast?

I got home about 6:00 PM Central time, after visiting and having lunch in Nashville with a high school friend I haven't seen in 59 years. That put the icing on the cake for a great weekend. Thanks to all for the "sweat equity" invested in getting things loaded onto my trailer! One of the "coming additions" to that old junk heap is going to be a swiveling hydraulic crane mounted just behind one rear fender, and some revised cable routing for the winch!

Made it to Maggie around 3pm Saturday, did a little yard work there then headed home to Edgefield at 6pm. Pulled in the drive at 9pm. Traffic was not bad all the way home.

Made it back home safe to Michigan with only one incident....
Got a flat tire on the Durango just as we were getting into downtown Louisville, KY. Limped it to a tire shop that was open, but they were too backed up with work to get us in, so we jacked up the vehicle in the parking lot and swapped out the flat with the full size spare. No issues the rest of the way home.

Great to see everyone again, and look forward to the next gathering!

Just Mark ,. Once we pointed the truck north we just drove straight home .,after all one can't get anywhere standing still .
By the way the truck was happy to climb the hills after that sever weight loss .

I apparently had an attack of the "smarts' and avoided the heat of the blacktop in July. Instead Linda and I met up with the group in air conditioned cabins and the shade of the picnic pavilion as the sun went down Friday evening. We had a good time hooking up with the group, sharing stories and food, but I had to avoid the temptation of a few beers because we drove back home that night. No too bad a 90 mile drive with the rain on dark Tennessee roads. I now have my 46 back from the body shop where the running board was repainted after the paint-stripper-gas removed 49 year old enamel. The so-called benzene, toluene, gas took that paint better than any stripper you could get at Lowes. We look forward to a better venue and time next year.

Hey Ya'll, we made it through the front door a little before 10:00PM Sunday. We had rain and thunderstorms (MONSOONS) all the way home. I lost a trailer tire (I think it bent the rim as well)to a South Carolina Pothole, it was so bad it bounced the batteries loose in the Golf Cart!!! Stopped up the road a couple of miles and changed out the tire, strapped the Golf Cart back down and down the road we went.

I'm glad that everyone made it home safe and sound, thanks for all the support for this event.

And I had one then had to change another one that had a bulge on it.
Totally forgot I had AAA!

I only had two instances of bad luck. Nothing really serious, just annoying. With the rain the water leaks in at the back of the cowl vent. (It does have a rubber gasket) The water must have got into the wiper motor and shorted it out. (I guess I should have stayed with the vacuum motor) Fortunately the rain stopped as we headed up the mountains. The other was when we stopped at O’Reilly to get taillight bulbs. The lenses are/were glass. One slipped out of my fingers and shattered. Red tape the rest of the way home. I ordered two new PLASTIC lense. Neither one of those would have upset me if I was feeling good. But was sick from the heat from Friday. All good now.
Over all, it was a good trip. Got to re-unite with my Stovebolt family. That was my main reason for going, in the first place. I am looking forward to our next gathering for sure!
TUT, Eli really likes the truck you gave him. I will have him send you a pic of it on his display shelf.
