Has anyone here done a "clear" coat on their big bolts, as found? Images & methods used, would be appreciated.

It is original only once, and I suppose if I end up hating what clear coating the patina looks like, one may always blast it off and do a re-paint...I'll know what colour it was.

.....my wife would call that a "shopping mall" for me!
Heel low:
Yes, this is a great place to wander about (we also have square bodies which we drive on nice days).
We have six 1928's; two of which are in fab shape. Will restow the two and then be able to race each other to town for ice cream ... flat out at fifty annoying everyone on the roads but us! :-D

Had the wooden wheels for one truck redone and new rubber for the two we will drive.
Finding someone that DOES wooden wheels is a luxury...the art is dying with the persons...sigh. :-(
The 1st '28, we made the terrible error (har har!) of going to an auction on Father's Day, eh? Heard it run, tried the doors and they were smooth...yeh, terrible error!
Sweet unit and was in the movie "Bye, Bye Blues" shot down in Southern Alberta. Those that know their '28's will see the headlights are for a 1926 Chev, not the 1928's.
We still laugh thinking of how he described it as "parade ready!" Yeh sure. Kinda like "it ran when we parked it," kinda thingy.
No matter, there is a '28 in the new shop bay and it'll get worked on. In total we also have six 1928's to pick parts from. You need three to make one and we made sure we had enough to "get 'er done!"
Hoping to see more monkey wrenching this fall and into the long winters up here in the Great White North.

I think one of the attractions is they look cartoonish. Great big wheels, kewl low cabs that look modified (but ain't)...I think what got Rick and I was that they look like the coupe on ZZ Top's Eliminator album cover. Once we saw the 1st one (and later bought it) we could not get that image outta our minds. It haunted us.

We shipped our rims out and had a set done up...leave it to the pros.
