Hello all! I just joined up, but have appreciated and referred to this site for years. Many Thanks!
I have been enjoying (over the past 30 plus years) the challenges and successes of owning a "50" 3600, that for the most part is being maintained as original in design, (6V included).
Oh,... but now,... There is a "Big Bolt" brother to the 3600! It is a "50" 5403 COE five window, mostly original.
What is not original is really what has lead me here to join up!
I have posted in the swap meet Forum as "WTB", some of the things that will help correct/restore history!
They are COE Cab Grab Bar and the original COE Shifter and Linkage.
Michael, welcome to Stovebolt, the best old Chevy/GMC site on the web. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Oh how I would have loved to found a COE. Looks like you have found a good one. They look like big brother and little brother. As you already know this is the place to be for old truck lovers. Being from Texas makes you a member of the "Texas Connection". Lot of you folks around here so be sure to watch for them. You may have one next door.
Hang in there and don't give up. Quite a few of big bolt lovers here to help with questions and find what you need. Just never, never give up. Things happen when you least expect it. See you around the garage forums.
Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. There is no cure!

Larry -- Is that the place you can see from the Interstate? If so, I went through that yard about 30 years ago ... it was incredible. They had a complete '39 1/2-ton just like mine sitting there. It looked like all it needed was gas and a battery to drive home. They wanted $700 bucks for it ... I was thinking about how I was going to get it onto the airplane for the trip home ... (I was attending a seminar in Ft Collins at the time). But the place was just loaded with pre War stuff. It was fun just to walk around and look.
