Long story short, my son was riding the super M a little too fast and paying too little attention, and it ended up upside down in a ditch full of about 4 feet of water.

No one was hurt, thank god.. but we were left with a delima..

...how do you get a Farmall Super M with a mower deck out of the bottom of a 8 foot ditch with 4 foot of water?

Wrap a chain around the axle, then the other end around the frame of a 59 year old 2 ton chevrolet truck, put it in gear and press gas pedal accordingly.

The '46 also works nicely for pulling the tractor up a steep grade hill, too.. all with a full load of junk in the grain bed.

Stock 235, stock rear, stock everything.. that old truck might not get you anywhere fast, but it will get you (and whatever it is you load her down with) there.

Thank God your son wasn't hurt! You can always replace the tractor OR the truck!!

Good story. I am about of the mind that there ain't nuthin' one of these ol' Big Bolt trucks cain't do, if they want to.

Treat 'em nice, love 'em to death, and as Joker sez, just drive 'em.

So where did your son find water in Western Nebraska?

Drivin' down a 2 lane country road in a stovebolt.....cowboy, it don't get no better than this!

Dont let all the sand, bluffs, sagebrush, and turtles fool ya.. it rains here sometimes, too!

Now when someone asks me, "... but what good is it?" I have something to answer with besides... "It isn't for the utility of it, but the meaning that it has to us."
