Hi,

I'm trying to restore a 1970 C 50 Chevy dump truck and need front fenders. Does anyone here have them or know where I can get them?

Thanks,

Tom

Tom, since John makes me do pushups every time I try to buy or sell something outside the SWAPS corner of the garage, You might want to just post your request about fenders in the Swap Meet section and see what kind of responses you get.

Check the Links, too.

Let me tell you, it is getting harder and harder for an old 'bolter like me to do as many pushups as John requires. So I do my best to pick up the loose paper and rags and put tools away here in the garage, and I almost never go smartin' off to him.

Check around your area, talk to other folk here, too. Somebody may know of a place near you that will have just waht you want.

Drivin' down a 2 lane country road in a stovebolt.....cowboy, it don't get no better than this!

Glenn...

Oh, the scurrilous moments pass, fleeting and sun fleck'd as they are, 'ere I pause to give voice to the forming thoughts... Alas, I fail!

Your response, Sir, is most apropos and cogent! Thus, no push ups for you today.

Just mountain climbers!

As far as I know the only big truck fenders being reproduced are for the 73 & up chevy C40-70 and ferd F-600. Have you checked with a GM truck dealer, find one thats willing to dig around a little and you might get lucky. The swap meet is good, and ebay now has a wanted column. Good luck

Tom, Call Greens Auto Salvage, here in N.Carolina. I was there about a month ago, & they had probably, between 50 to 60, '67-'72 Chevy, & GMC C50-70 trucks, & that's not counting the school buses, they have this model. They will ship them to you. Ph. No. 1 (800) 682-9172

Mander's Diesel in Lakeville, MN had a 1970 C-60 (?) it was red...used for hauling shingles in it's former life.. The truck was in the yard over the winter...they ship every where...I seem to recall the truck was in good shape, but it has been a couple of months since I've seen the truck....dexonline should have a number....

I found several trucks in a Nebraska Big Bolt junk yard that have your fenders. Try this link:

Yep Tom, I called them, & they said they didn't have any, that were not rusted, & worth removing, & shipping. I figured it must have been something like that, because I knew the trucks were there. I'll keep looking for ya. Do your fenders have the wide, or narrow flare.

I went threw the same thing you did a few years back.I ended up cutting out the rot and fabricating large patches and welding them in.I then used a fiberglass body filler to get the body lines very close. Its been 5 years and it still looks pretty good.

im parting a 68 c-50

and we took a 71 c60 to shredder a coupel months ago, entire truck minus engine, it even had dump bed and all hydraulics and everything

all i kept were the big mirrors off it and the front bumper

that was it

it is hard to find anyone wanting parts off the big trucks

im about to post the 68 c-50 for 300 minus engine in the swap meet area if i can

or part it, has a clean nice cab brand new rockers and everything, solid and straight, and lots of other parts

runs and drives right now

but i am keeping the 327 engine for a pickup i need an engine for, so,

[email protected] if anyone has questions

thanks

I'm not real familiar with the later trucks, but if you can tell me exactly what to ask for I can call a local salvage yard that may have them.

Will only 1970 fit? Only C-50? Inner fender needed too, or do these even have them?

Ready to pay shipping charges from Kansas?

Kansas hasn't been using salt on the roads until fairly recently so I would expect the drier climate to allow them to be good.

I expect they would be reasonable as the fellow seems easy to deal with. There a couple of other yards in western Kansas I could check with too.

Email me at greenbeanman at gmail.com (without spaces & with @ instead, they keep bots at bay). I'll check back here too.
