Ran accross a cute, short IH 1710 Cargo Star truck for cheap! Couldn't resist! Don't need it! Can't find much info yet! Mama will kill me, when she finds out! Anyway, this is a COE, very small cab, has twin controls, steering, pedals and all. Was a sweeper of some sort. Low miles, around 30,000, but had small carb fire for some reason. It is a gas V-8, maybe 304 or 345? commone engine. Has auto, maybe an Alison trans. Control on dash has 1 2 3 D, so maybe 4spd? OR Alisons have multi-shifting "levels" to go through according to what I have found on them. Biggest setback is Air Brakes. Need CDL to drive those. Maybe it will just set around for years like most of my stuff, ha! Where is some info on old IH and maybe some pix? I tried Hank's pix site, didn't find one there. Need a manual for it also.
That steering is weird! One regular column with a gear box at bottom above floor. A jointed shaft accross floor to another exact IH column and both turn together. Not sure if 2nd one goes past floor or stops there. I'm also not sure I wanna take it out or have just to be neat! Think I'll remove 2nd gas and brake pedals though.

sounds like fun GL - gotta leave the xtra wheel there so when ya have that stroke on the road the passenger can save the day!! but yer right - don't wanna let'em have access to the gas and brake grin
what year? Cargo Star is the name of a trailer outfit now, and mosta the info on the net for International is farm tractors, but if it's not tooo old there should be info available from truck places that deal IHC Navistar

red58, is a 74 vintage, "new", ha! I tried some of my links to auto lit sites. Some are goofy stuff, nothing about books, and some just hard to use, or they don't give much info. So many sites like that now. Little info on them, just how to get ahold of them with mail or phone.

how about "Magnum Models 7110, 7120, 7130, 7140 Tractor Shop Service Repair Manual, 136 pages by Clymer for Case & International published in 1992? or maybe thats farm tractor?
it's at books4cars , who have most every book ever printed for vehicles, or they can get it quick - about halfway down this page - if that's not the one, look further there or give them a call

That's 1710 on truck. Yes, those are late model tractors and I did look thru this site. Only book I found was on Binder Books site. It was correct, but $152.95!!!! Man, I thought others were bad, but that hit hard. I have paid up to $90 for manuals from others and Helms, but Jeeez! The parts book was Unavailable there.

I think oldchevy46 is correct as long as you don't register it as a commercial vehicle you don't have to worry about CDL or airbrake endorsement

I believe 26,000 lbs is the cutoff for CDL unless hazardous materials are involved
