From Luke :

Hey Stovebolters! Here is my 1969 Chevy 3/4-ton 4 x 4. I have done a frame off restoration. With the help of my Brother, we did all of the work accept the body and paint.

I have had the truck for two years. [ Before pix ] I bought it as a two wheel drive low-rider. Then I bought another '69 4 x 4 rust bucket and rebuilt the running gear. I put the nice low-rider body on it. [ A low pic ]

        List of upgrades include:

  • Aluminum wheels
  • 33 x 10.50 mud tires
  • 1975 3/4-ton 4 x 4 front axle
  • Power disc brakes
  • Power steering
  • Brand new 350HP 350 with Edelbrock performer spread bore intake
  • Stock carburetor
  • 1965 Corvette exhaust manifolds

The truck has the original SM465 transmission and NP205 transfer case. We topped it off with true duel 2.5 inch exhaust and 40 series Flowmaster mufflers. [ A little snow ]

My 14 year old brother just picked up a original condition 1943 GMC 6 x 6 with dump bed and 18K winch for $1000 (what a steal, uh?) so I will send some pictures of that as well as some of my other bothers' trucks (I have seven brothers and between us we have about eight old Chevy trucks!). Here's Abel and Seth on one of the trucks!

I have been so busy that I haven't had time to visit The Stovebolt Page in almost two years. It's good to be back and good to see you all are keeping it running.

Thanks,

Luke Dahlin
