Since the engine and driveline turn the tires I figure its ok to ask this here. My 52, 1/2t. has 600-16 tires that need replacing. 16 inch tire are really up there in price. Can you guys tell me what your running if your not with the standard 600-16s? I have a 235, so I wouldn't think that power for alittle wider tire would be a problem. I do want to stick with mt standard rims. What do you think?

Greetings from the NORTH St. Paul 'burbs! I switched to a 15 inch tire to stay more narrow and cost effective. Sams Club (35e) had an 85 width 16 that tempted me pretty hard. It was narrower than other 16's available, which is a concern if you don't want to rub on the body or switch rims. They are designed for the modern dually trucks but could work on the chevy. The height seemed close to a 6-50 and would be better on the highway gearing than a lower to mid 15 like I got. They're not cheap though, at 75-85 each. If you do want to switch to 15's I've got a local tip to consider.

I use new 215/85R 16 D range tires. Most tire stores have these. The manufacturer recommends no narrower than 5.5" rims, but these tires have so much sidewall, they squeeze right down, look and drive just fine.
I have about 2500 miles on mine, would do it again. The tall tires also help overcome the 411 rear gear. | | |
