The 1950 3100 we got didn't come with the original grille, so I'm looking for the best option in finding a replacement. I've heard aftermaket aren't good, but don't know where to find a good orig. Thanks for any help. Does anyone make a new reproduction that is nice?

I've been running a repo grille on my 52 Panel for over 7 years. I do keep it parked in the garage and I do wax the grille good once a year and it has held up well. Maybe you'll get lucky and get one made on Tuesday or Wednesday!!

If I recommended someone I'd recommend JimCarter or Classic Parts..........and no, I'm not on their payroll !!!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

K.Lyon,
Depends on your goal. Show truck or daily driver?
Craigslist has them time to time ( usually original ones)
Ebay has both but shipping will cost you. I suggest searching local ( if you go original)
There is one near me for sale for $200 (original chrome style) ..they are out there.

What I did was buy two original grilles from a swap meet. Both had damaged bars but in different spots. I shaved the rivets holding the bars from behind and mix and matched a very straight and original grille.

I did the same. Found one on craiglist when I was down in SoCal visiting my mom and brought it back home as baggage (for free nanner). The original and the one I bought had enough good pieces to make a complete good grille. It's not chromed though. My truck is a work truck that had a painted grille.

The best grille maker for these trucks? GM. Be patient, diamonds come up and when they do, be quick! I got mine for $80 with a tiny dent on the #4 bar. I’m still looking for another junker with that straight bar so I can replace mine. I could fix it, but I know one will pop up and likely for free.
