I know they make the expensive ones that go under the truck on the frame and the ones that go under the dash, but I am thinking about just plain and simple mounting it on the firewall on the driver's side and was wondering which model of car works well?

I used the swing pedal, Master cylinder and booster from a GM G body (Cutlass, Regal, Grand Prix, Monte Carlo. You will need to reinforce the firewall to withstand the added force from the pedal. A 1973 thru 87 Chevy truck works nice too, I got a real nice aftermarket firewall mount online that fits sweet (7" booster,M/C, pedal assembly) the pedal assembly takes the place of the dash/steering wheel brace, it really worked out nice and clean.

I have a little more room to work with it being a 1 1/2 tonner, but I think there are smaller diameter boosters that would fit a pick-up just as well. All of the pedal and linkage parts are already there, so I thought that would be the best way to go. I wouldn't mount one to the firewall with out beefing it up somehow, it's just a single layer of sheet metal,

Do not choose a MC and booster that are so big it is all you see when you lift the hood. I have seen MCs on the firewall that is small and less obtrusive and I would look to install something like that.
