bucktruck 'Bolter B Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 121 USA - Georgia - Warner Robins	My 1947 3100 pickup transmission has the floor shifter. It is actually 3 forward speeds with reverse. My understanding is this transmission is factory original to this truck. How can I learn what transmission (name/model) is in my truck? Does the transmission have this information stamped on it somewhere? Thanks, Ray

There might also be a date casting code on the case? Tim 1954Advance-Design.com 1954 3106 Carryall Suburban 1954 3104 5-window pickup w/Hydra-Matic The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.

Prefix code indicates manufacturer. Gord 🇨🇦 ---- 1954 1/2 ton 235 4 speed

Ed '37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires. '47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle. '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

bucktruck 'Bolter B Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 121 USA - Georgia - Warner Robins	I checked the service manual and it is a 3 forward - one reverse selective syncro-mesh transmission. I think gears 2 and 3 are sorta synchronized. Manual didn't give any name for transmission or model numbers. ray
