It is actually 3 forward speeds with reverse. My understanding is this transmission is factory original to this truck. How can I learn what transmission (name/model) is in my truck? Does the transmission have this information stamped on it somewhere? '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

If yes, then they're not synchro'd.

I think gears 2 and 3 are sorta synchronized. Manual didn't give any name for transmission or model numbers. ray | | |
