Last Sunday I purchased my first vehicle - a 1946 Chevy truck. We drove 5hrs (one way) to look at him, put a deposit down, and we pick him up this weekend.
Hubby has had his high school sweetheart ('68 Camaro) since we were teenagers, and 'Bruno' is my midlife crisis. =)
I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions once we start restoring him but for now, I wanted to introduce myself. Thank you for the add!
Maria

Thank you, Rusty Rod! I'm able to navigate much better on my laptop (I've been logging in on my phone). I'll have to get some pix swapped over.

Welcome to the bolt! I'm also new and let me tell you. These folks are nothing short of incredible. So much knowledge and they aren't afraid to share it!
Welcome, I'm new too. This is the best site anywhere. You will enjoy the kindness and camaraderie of everyone. I have never received any bad information, if they don't know they will find out from other information areas that you can pull up. Doc

Out of curiosity, since it's more difficult to navigate from my phone, is there an album area to share pictures?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Maria

Welcome from a fellow Hoosier. I live near Warsaw a little less than 4 hours North of you. I'm building a 53 1/2 ton with a blown 292. I have a full shop if you need anything. Really not that far away.

Welcome 46 Chevy Mom! It's nice to have another lady here! Where in Illinois did your truck come from? Mine came from Cobden, Ill. many years ago. You'll have fun with your truck, and it looks nice! Samantha
Hey Samantha, and thank you! He came from Wauconda, IL (4hrs and 49 minutes from us, to be exact. LoL) What truck do you have?
Hubby and I were born and raised here in Indiana and returned "home" when he retired from the Air Force 10yrs ago. He finished rebuilding his high school sweetheart ('68 Camaro) & got it painted a few years ago, and I've wanted a truck since I can remember. Feeling a "midlife crisis" coming on, and falling in love with a '46 at a car show in Washington, IN last summer, I began the search. I decided I wanted to learn new things and have an actual hobby for the last half of my life, & I'm going to 'nickel and dime' him back to life and make him my daily driver (weather permitting). =)
It was nice 'meeting' you!

Hi 46 Chevy Mom, I am familiar with Waukanda, as my truck and I spent about 3 years in Waukegan. Mine is a 54 Chevy half ton, and is the second vehicle that I've bought, so I've had it quite a few years. I had a 41 similar to yours for a while back in the 70's - they're a lot of fun! Samantha
