I bought a key lock and added it to the drivers door on my 49. There seems to be an important part missing from the internal door latch mechanism as the keylock does not lock or unlock the door. I looked at the passenger lock and there appears to be another piece on it that is not on the drivers lock. Has anyone done this and can enlighten me on what they did to make it work? This might be wives tale but the reason for no lock on the driver side is the roads in those days wern't paved or in bad shape that most people went out the passenger side so they would not get muddy anyone else heard about this tale!!!!!!!! Had to lock the left door from the inside.
