I removed 11 bolts on each side but pan is stuck. Friend recommended putty knife all the way around but difficult access with no success. Obviously, clean off as much accumulated oil and grease as possible before applying heat. If you're the type of timid stovebolter who wears lace on his drawers and gets a case of the vapors at even the mention of a flame, use a heavy duty heat gun instead of a torch! I keep an air hose and a blow gun handy to blow out the fire in case I get a little over-zealous with the heat.
PSA: Saying "Bel Air" on a truck forum will get your knuckles rapped with a big crescent wrench by one of the moderators!

You did remove the four 1/2 bolts in the corners, right? They are kind of hidden, especially the ones up front.

I agree with helping out anyone who has a 216/235/261 no matter if it is in a car, airplane, combine, whatever (except for an F-ord, of course). Not everyone spends regular time in the Greasy Spoon to see threads like this one.
