stuff happens, I once ruined a good engine because I did not get the drain cock tight enough after putting antifreeze in it,,, got hot on the way home at 4:oo am , as it was dark and my gauges were not real bright I did not notice till to late, smoke and just stop running, this was in my 70 international half-ton,,,you caught yours before any harm so I would not say you are stupid,,,just an over-site,,regards,,see ya down the road,,,Fred
