I am slowly working on a 1956 Chevy 1 ton long bed (see below). The frame/rolling chassis is complete, the bed is primed and mock-up. Now I need to tackle the rusty cab problem.
Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. There is no cure! We have a “Special Forum” for 1 tons. Be sure to check in there.

Love the front bumper, now that is unique. My favorite truck of my Dad's was a 56' LWB, not sure but I seem to remember it being a 3/4 ton. I'm working on rust issues as well with my 59'. Glad your here, Welcome to the BOLT.

1. Wisconsin 2. Probably going to paint it cardinal red, the door tag says 725 (if I remember correctly) and I think that was the original color 3. The front bumper was two stock bumpers welded together with the tire attached. I wasn't able to keep the bumper, but do plan to reuse the grill guard
1. The cab, hood and doors were dipped and stripped this summer. Like brand new, just few holes 2. Bed is mocked up and wood is fabricated 3. New wheels, used tires 4. All replacement sheet metal in hand after a 10 week lead time (complete new floor, firewall, fenders, door bottoms) 5. Driveshaft reconditioning in progress
Nice truck and welcome to the “Bolt”. Too bad you had to lose that bumper, truly a one of a kind. You making some nice progress. Keep posting!

Paul, just a reminder this is the Welcome Center. It is not the forum for a running project journal. We have a separate forum for that.
