Not the shop but the owner had used a 5'x10' piece of 1/8" panel or plywood (?) on top of probably a two piece sub floor. A 5x10 is big enough for a one piece floor. The shop owner said the man told him he bowed the center up till the sides went under the side rails. Don't know how weather proof a layered floor would be but it looked nice.

In fact, I "almost" ordered and oversize sheet to do that on my 52panel but the original was good so I decided to "fill" the places where stuff was dragged out the back door, and the ply's were showing, since I was going to put a thin carpet mat on top of it.

I actually just logged in to ask if anyone has ever bought high durometer rubber rolls to replace the original battleship linoleum and used a tool to groove it like the original flooring? I am in the process of attempting this. I ordered some sample rubber and will be creating a metal slotted guide to run a woodworkers V notching tool through at the most appropriate depth to replicate the original look.
