I know there's a topic being discussed about moving the steering box to accomodate a v8, but I'd like to find a manual steering box I can mount to my tilt column. Trouble is, to keep my drag link and stock suspension I need a reverse rotation steering box. You know, when you turn right the pitman arm moves toward the firewall. I'd rather keep my manual steering (I like it that way)and all of my newly rebuilt suspension. And I know there's a power steering kit available that mounts the box ahead of the axle.
I know someone out there has HAD to have found a reverse rotation steering box to hook up to their tilt column with a rag joint. I'd searched and found some references to possible toyota or dodge boxes, but nothing definite.
Has anyone done this successfully with a reverse rotation box?

If not,Maybe you could cut the tube down at the bottom and use a sealed bearing just like you'd do to your column if you wanted to use a new steering box with your original column.Then install your u-joint and connect your tilt column to it with a shaft and another u-joint.

I would still have to spacer it out away from the frame a couple inches. I do vaguely remember reading somewhere either on this board or elsewhere on the net where someone did this and told exactly how they did it. I'll have to do a search to see if I can find it. Especially the part about the bearing used after cutting off the column.
