Need some help?...a second set of eyes or helping hands? Want to put together a meet and greet in your area? How about someone to go look at that truck you saw on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace? Here is a tool to see where your fellow 'Bolters are, so you can message them here on Stovebolt.com.
For those who want to participate, this map displays the location of Stovebolters in the Midwestern Bolters Association, and sometimes, the surrounding area. If you wish to have your location added to the map, PM me.
Note that the above link is directly to the .jpg file. Mobile devices (Android/iOS) by default download the file to your Downloads folder, where you can then view it. It may be easier for some mobile users to view the attached file below, then zoom/pan the image.

Phil We originally just had Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. But we annexed a little farther knowing the outlaying states were in kind of limbo. So post up your locations and join in the chatter. Start a event in your area, for a meet and greet lunch or something.
Kevin and I will me meeting about once a month in Ashland, Mo. Don

Don, the description as written by John includes only 4 States. If you are officially adding Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma then I would suggest you edit the description in the Forum header. Don’t know if you as Moderator can do that or you have to get with John or Paul to do that. Please note, I’m not complaining l just want clarification. You da man!

Thanks Martin, I didn't catch that. We decided to grab a bigger area to include you and some other folks. I don't think I can change that, but if I could it would read like this.
The Midwest Stovebolters Serving the Great Plains states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and surrounding states! Got something going on? Want to get something going? It's a big area, better check in here!

How I crop the image in no way delineates what group you are or aren't allowed to identify with. The surrounding areas are to provide context for travel routes into and out of the 'Midwest' area.
Stovebolters should be able to associate with whatever group appeals to them, and is practicable for them to travel. I'm sure other regional groups are more than welcome to post maps in their own forums, and I can't imagine someone would be upset if the maps overlap somewhat.
I am confident the two assigned moderators for "Midwest Bolters Association" forum have things well in hand.

Looks like Shakey61 has been off duty to add folks. I,ll give him a call and see if we can get you folks added.
On a side note, we should have a Midwest Bolters Association meet and greet this May/June? Maybe at the lake?

Thanks Kevin! We still need to meet up and discuss a Midwest Bolters Association Meet and greet. I think it should be in May or June, The wife and I can host it lake side that will include a BBQ. But, if there are any other locations and dates, this is in a very early, first time planning stage. So suggestions are asked for and welcome!
The Stovebolt Reunion is also another story. We will start that topic this spring.

If we do get a Meet and Greet scheduled this year, an old truck will not be required to attend. Guess I need to start a separate thread on that topic.

Thanks HandyAndy. I bought a 49 that a gentleman pulled out of a farm field in California and started to restore. He installed a l31 5.7l vortec and 4L80e tranny . It has a Scott's front suspension and a 4-link rear end with bags. When he moved to Iowa, it sat in storage for 5 years and was never ran. I flushed the engine and cleaned the tank along with several other things and got it running. Still a lot of interior work to be done and of course the bed wood. The way he installed the rear shock mounts allows them to protrude higher than where the cross sills would of been so he has uni-strut going from bed side to bed side. I am unsure how the bed wood mounts and am curious if they could be mounted to the uni-strut. Looks like you have been around and tinkering with these trucks for awhile? You are welcome to make the drive to Kalona anytime so I can pick your brain:)
...and then, after I moved all the files to the new computer, I had to remember the process to update the graphics! I've slept since the last map update, so I had to remember!
All updated now. Thanks for your patience! I'm ready for the arrival of summer and the departure of COVID, so perhaps some of us can get together.

Welcome to the Midwest Bolters Association (MBA) gang!
Also a big "Welcome" to the Stovebolt community too!
Am sure Shakey61 will get you added to the MBA Map soon. In the mean time, maybe you could go and post to introduce yourself and your truck in the Welcome Centre ?
If you read a couple of the latest new posts in there, you can get a flavor for what you may want to tell us. What ever you do, please post some pics of your truck - lol! If you don't, be prepared to be pestered until you do - haha.
Once again, Welcome!

Short time I worked there was during construction before the plant fired up in the early 80's. My brother did 30 yrs there.......but retired a bit more than 10 years ago. So folks I would be familiar with are long gone.
26+ years at the Callaway power plant. It is the sister plant of Wolf Creek and we share a lot of tooling and parts.

Howdy y'all. Looks like I'm fixing to be the most southern of the midwestern association. I'm down in Gatewood, MO which is just about on the Arkansas line. Just picked up my 6400 on Saturday, haven't even gotten her turned over yet -- need to monkey with the starter but I think it's the "solenoid" switch that's the problem.
Am sure when Shakey61 gets a chance he can get you added to our map.
If you need to ask question on the 6400, best to pose them in the nearest to on-topic forum in The Shop Areas.
Glad joined us and look forward to the possibility of a meet up at some point in the future.
