Well the Reunion is a little over two months away and it's time to start the planning process.

First start is a T-Shirt design and color. John has done the design in the past, but I don't think he will have time this year.
Since the park should still be flooded, maybe the shirt could have some sort of flood theme.
If we can't get a new design, I'll probably pick out one of the old designs and update the dates.
Please let us know what your thoughts are on the color.
I'm thinking light colored pocket t-shirt, big design on back and logo on the pocket.

Haven't heard of one yet Kevin.
Mongo said they had a couple backup plans and he should let us know when they are finalized.

Can you draw up a t-shirt design?

I was thinking that the location might have some bearing on the t-shirt design.

I forded the water in my 4WD Avalanche today; people with cars had to hitch a ride with 4WD truck owners.

I'm not looking for more things to do, but I'll certainly help if I can. I have a little skill with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Attached is a sign I put on each door of 'Mater Jr:

Don, how about “Stovebolt Madness there is no cure”. We just have to be careful of copy right infringement with the actual design. Not an artist so I can’t help with images. Carry on.

In reference to the floods and the flooded-out normal venue, I was thinking of an image of a pickup with a john-boat or canoe in the back. Numerous possible captions; here's some off the top of my head.

"Six cylinders and two paddles...no stopping!" "...keep going!" etc.
"Don't flood the engine"
" 'Bolts don't float"
"Stovebolt Bait Shop"
"Keep the inline above the waterline"
"Stovebolt love runs deep"

Some silly ideas perhaps, but maybe it will spark better ideas in someone else. Knowledge of the potential event location may contribute to the design.

Red pickup, blue or gray shirt. Chevrolet/GM color scheme.

(I'm just the new guy here...not trying to hijack the creative process.)

Back a few years ago some shirts were done in a purple color that I thought looked really good. (at one time I think we almost considered it "our color"?) Dark enough to hide the tobacco stains (and some grease) and gold, yellow or sliver colors looked good with the shirt.
And while I love and always promote Stovebolt, I personally, and its a personal thing with me, don't like the entire back of a shirt all filled up. It seems to take away from the message. We've had club shirts like this for years around my area and finally figured out that while folks love their cars and trucks most want to "KISS" it as in "Keep It Simple Stupid"...... Big enough to read but small enough not to be overbearing.
I still have a couple Stovebolt shirts I've had embroidered over the years and can see folks staring/looking/reading what the shirts say rather than a bunch of red ink splattered all over it that simply says yeah, I'm a car or truck nut. (I've always loved the "still plays with trucks" logo)

.....I do vote for pockets and would even spring for a golf/polo type shirt if its in the offering.
I'm not complaining guys, this comes up each year and I'm just trying to get everyone to thinking!!!!

I agree with Achipmunk on keeping the design clean, simple, and not too overbearing. Small logo and script on the front pocket, and maybe small script on the sleeve or upper back neck area. I'm a fan of gray....sorry Achipmunk, but I don't have any shoes that go well with purple....:)

Alvin, I have one of those purple shirts. Got it at my first Reunion in 2009.
Wore it for the group picture and took it off, not because of the color, but because it was too hot in the sun.
Maybe I need to cut off the sleeves and collar, to be able to wear it?

The clean and simple design is a good idea, something on the back and something on the pocket.
I also like the light/bright colored T's. Cooler to wear when it is T-shirt weather.
Makes our group stand out at shows.

Tom, how about a gray shirt with some simple bright lettering?

Kevin, we need to get together next week and see if we can come up with something.
Maybe Patty Malone's, when you get off work, easy to get to for both of us and easy to get back on the highway.

Yes, a pocket and simple and I do like grey.

The show/reunion will be at the Argosy Casino parking lot this year. It is close to the park where it usually is. All on pavement.

Met up with Kevin, Shakey61, today and he has some good ideas on design for the shirts this year.
Shirt color will be red with black lettering. Small logo above the pocket and some simple big printing on the back.
Had a great time chatting with Kevin and I'm sure we will be meeting up in the future.
Hopefully we will have a design next week and I will contact Mogo's sister in law to get the pricing.
Then a thread will be started to order shirts.
No extra shirts will be ordered, well maybe just a couple XL.
So if you want a shirt, tell me in the t-shirt ordering thread.

Here are some initial artwork examples for the graphic on the front pocket. They're variations of what's been used in the past, but instead of a head-on view, I made them somewhat oblique.

I don't have the correct font that was used previously, so I just used something acceptable until I can discover the identity of the previous font. The AK and AD styles seem more iconic, but I wanted to include some different models and angles to hopefully generate constructive feedback.

We're still working on ideas for text/graphic on the back of the shirt.

So I would like to attend, is there any preregistration other than T-Shirts or just roll up with our rides?

Shakey, is working on a Stovebolt T-Shirt design.
I met up with him yesterday and he has really good idea's.
The three he has posted is just a logo above the front pocket.
The big back, simple design, will come latter.
I have all three of those style of trucks, so, it doesn't matter to me.

On second thought, those drafts don't have a 55 to 60 task force front end.
Do I need to post a picture of what one looks like?

The logos are looking good. I'm always partial to the AD trucks. (a 54' or 55' First series would be great!)
Just a thought, but what if the top of the logo simply said "STOVEBOLT", and the bottom said "Kansas City, Missouri 2019"
The back could have the website text of "Find it - Fix it - Drive it"

Good input and I had not thought about blue. We like to have a different color every year and white lettering on a blue shirt would look good.
Thinking that will be the colors next year.
