Help,
I am new to this group. I am trying to get a Howard intake manifold set up on my 302 GMC. This manifold allows the use of 2, 3, or 5 stromberg 97 carburators. My question is has anybody run this manifold with 5 carbs? Do all carbs need a choke and idle circuit? Do the carbs need to be jetted down?
My rough idea is to run with all 5 carbs. I would like to use the #2 and 4 carbs as primary, and the #1, 3, and 5 as secondary. My manifold is water-heated. I realize this may not be the best or easiest performance system out there, but it sure looks cool. It will be complimented by a Fenton exhaust, a hotter cam, hei ignition, and venolia 9 to 1 compression ratio pistons.

I have no idea on your set-up, but WOW. It'll probably run different every time you start it up. Make it a dual carb with three fake ones, it would be easier to set-up and still have your "look",
Just a thought,
Scott

That Howard intake is a rare one. You need to get over to Inliners.org and pose these questions. I've seen these intakes running on Inliners members GMCs but you need to find the man that own's one. Better yet, join Inliners Int. per the website and you'll then be able to contact some of our 'Tech Advisers', most of whom don't have the time for these forums.
Also you should make our annual Central Cal picnic in Lodi, CA in Sept, and rub elbows with our many GMC inline fanatics. Also Turlock Swap Meet last weekend this month, row 'O' I believe you'll find a few guys with lots of inline GMC stuff.
Best of luck
