Watched the national news tonight and the flooding coming down the Missouri river could affect the Midwest All Truck Nationals and the Stovebolt Reunion.
I believe it was the 2011 or 2012 Reunion and show, that had to relocate to the Red-X field, due to the flood damage at the park.
Remember the lighting storm that blew up on Saturday? We all had to hang on to the steel awning poles to hold it from doing a Wizard of Oz fly off into Kansas.
This is just a heads up, Vicki and I are hoping that everything will be dried out and the show will be at the new remodeled park.
Mongo, Please keep us up to date on the outcome!

Don

I was by there yesterday & it wasn't flooded yet. The forecast is that it will stay below flood stage in this area. We have some pretty good dikes in this area.
I'll be that way Saturday & have another look.

Thanks George!
I know it is still 6 months off from the Reunion and just want to let folks know it might be different this year.
Keep us up to date on what you see and hear.

Thanks

The park is completely flooded Sat. morning. Its almost to the top of the picnic tables. This is early in the season so it probably will be cleaned up by the show time.
I said we have good dikes but the park is on the wrong side of them.

There is a "B" plan if the park is not ready. The show must go on. Jerry

A few years ago when this happened they had it at the lot next to Red X. It worked out real good.

River has started to go down according to this link.
https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=eax&gage=kcdm7&view=1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1

But, Mongo told us last year that the park would be going thru a makeover this past winter.
So with all the flooding, that probably did not happen.
The Red X field worked out a number of years ago and it could work out again.

Hopefully Mongo will see this and update us.

Hey guys there are a couple backup locations in the file. We are working out which is going to work out the best at this point and getting the details together and finalized.
As soon as I know for sure what the plan is I'll post it up. It's a Rain or Shine show so The show will go on!.

Don, is all your stuff safe from the flood waters? I work at the hangar just off Hwy 94, and we've been having to take a boat to work for a couple of weeks now. I'd like to bring my newest family member ( 'Mater Jr.) to the Stovebolt Reunion this year, so I'm waiting to hear of the alternate plan.

This is what happens when you live with a house-full of women, the wife and daughters name all the cars:
1960 Impala - "Frankie" (Frank Sinatra)
1961 Apache - " 'Mater Jr." (wrecker)
1965 Corvair Monza Convertible
1967 C20 "Ol' Blue" (hidden in a log cabin for 30 years)
1972 SuperBeetle Convertible - "Juliet"
1976 SuperBeetle Convertible - "Olaf"
1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce - "Romeo"

Welcome to the garage and there are several Stovebolters around mid Missouri.
We are about 6 miles from 94 and on plenty of high ground.

The Reunion is a good time and info will be shared as we get it.
We also need to start thinking about T-Shirts for the event soon and get a design made up.
John has done them in the past and maybe he can do one this year. (Hint, Hint)

Kevin, went thru Jeff City yesterday and the airport looks to be a muddy mess when the water went down!
Are you wearing gum boots to work?

It's muddy, and once the water stagnates, it's going to be stinky and buggy. I'm soooo looking forward to it. The city has started to clean the runways that are now accessible, but it's going to be a while before the airport is operational again.

PM me sometime when you're going to be passing by, and I'll drive 'Mater Jr. to work so you can see it.
