Howdy 'bolters.

I am from Northern California (as the title would imply) or, as the typing-challenged call it, "NorCal". I sometimes drive a 1959 GMC 100 1/2 ton pickup. It is basically a ranch truck that I take out to town on occasion. It is not real practical on the highway as it is rather low geared. Comfortable (well, that is a relative term) cruising speed is about 45 or so. You can push it up a bit, but I would just as soon pull over until I can get some taller gears into the old guy. Gotta say, most people seem to cut me some slack, given the appearance of the truck. Maybe it's my appearance. Who knows? ;-)

The '59 has a NAPCO aftermarket 4 wheel drive package with a mild lift kit on it. It has the original 270 inline 6 engine, and a large rear window. You don't see many of the old GMC's on the road around here, and mine is one of the very few 4 wheel drive trucks of this vintage that I have ever seen around these parts. It is definitely a work in progress.

When I figure out how to post pics on this site, I will slap some up.

Welcome.

If you’re using a cell phone it’s pretty easy to upload pics to a third party app like Imgur and post a link to the photo hosting site.
