Is there more than one manufacturer and if so is one better than the other? Anything I should look out for? I am hesitant to just buy the cheapest one out there. But if they are all the same.......what the heck.
Any advise from someone that has done this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Your best bet is Mar-K Manufacturing--look at their online catalog. You will need to check if they ship to Canada.ðŸ›

My 37 project had been a landscape truck and the bed was really beat up. I opted to replace the entire bed and chose Mar-K. The reproduction bed matched the original right down to the number and placement of spot welds. You won't be disappointed. Since I like the stock look, I chose their pine bedwood and boy was it pretty (before I covered that flawless wood with black paint). Too bad that they do not make 1954/55st bed sides. But, it is understandable. | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 | Ditto On Mar-K service, parts fit and service!!! And a member and supporter of this site....

I’ve bought 2 47-53 tailgates (gmc and Chevy) and both are fantastic. | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,442 Bolter | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,442 | Fox, there is a possibility I will get an up close and personal tour of Mar-K with the former owner 59 fleet (Mark) on Saturday the 27th. I will pose that very question for y’all. I think I know the answer but will wait for an official response. Any and all Bolters are welcome, see the Events Forum.ðŸ›

Check with others about fit. I've got a 55 bed in it now (flat side rails). Because i was able to pick it up for cheap and it does not fit properly. Rear fenders are to high and wont line up the the running boards. anyone is the So Cal area looking for a OEM 55 short bed i will have one for sale soon.
