Not a lot of posts these days. Who still stops by for a look? Any updates or downdates? The Maple Ridge Swap Meet is coming up on March 31st. Also the next BC Pioneer Truck Society meeting is March 24. I was going to head down to Puyallop for the Early Bird Swap Meet, but the weather looked a little too iffy for an over three hour drive. I am getting to soft.

Hy Super55, I check in at least once a day. Weather is kind of unpredictable now that winter has finally arrived, hope all is well.

North of 40, you can find just about all the swap meets and shows at the Harrison Auto events page, http://www.autoeventlist.com/. The Maple Ridge Swap meet on March 31 has a link with a poster that has all the info.

Not much. This month BC means Bloody Cold! Last year at this time I had already mowed the lawn a couple of times and was playing golf. This year, there is snow on the ground. eek

Not very much. Unfortunately most of the good events and get togethers are on the mainland and I am on the island in Victoria. Ferry fares are obscenely expensive.

In May I put vintage plates and insurance on my 50 Chev PU that I have been working on for some time. I have put about 10 miles on the truck roaming around the neighbourhood to see if there are any hiccups, so far it starts and stops, the stopping part I was most concerned with. I usually go for early morning drives to escape the idiots and mothers taking their baby teenagers to school. I have a few things to finish in order to get collector plates, but so far so good with what I have, will have to figure out how to post a pic or two, may see you around the Lower Mainland sometime.

Hey blanch53, There is a guy in Anacortes that has lots of parts. And maybe 3B has one to sell. He is in Chilliwack.

I check in from time to time. Usually in the summer hoping to see what shows you guys might be attending or to see if I can finally make the BBQ. Any get together’s coming up?

Anyone in Vancouver, Richmond or Burnaby who’d wanna meet up for a beach cruise or something? I’m not getting the truck out as much as I’d like to. I’ve gone to the Richmond south terminal Mac Donald’s cruise in once and not one single person greeted me or gave me the time of day. Maybe stovebolters are more friendly.

Hy Redwelter, I intend to have my Pikanik sometime this summer or possibly early fall. My partner Bernice had a very unfortunate accident with her horse, the horse spooked and took off from under her she flipped and landed on her hands and knees, she broke both wrists the left one a compound (bones sticking through the skin) the right a simple fracture, she gets her casts off next Tuesday after that she will have to wear wrist braces for who knows how long. As we all know you can be attending some vehicle event every weekend through the summer sometimes one on each weekend day, I will be away for two weeks in August and July is out of the question, so keep checking in here it looks like September may be the time for the Pikanik I'll post some proposed dates when I know better what is happening. Please if you knew Boyd please attend his celebration in August. Regards Bobb and Bernice

Sounds awful for your wife, that’s terrible news. I hope she has a speedy recovery. I’m looking forward to your piknik as last year was my first summer with the truck but couldn’t attend. Hopefully I can this year. Are any stovebolters getting their trucks out to any shows or cruise nights this summer?

I don’t think I knew Boyd. I met some of you guys at the Ladner car show in 2010. If he was there then maybe I did. What year is his truck?

Hi " Red "

Boyd has a '52 Chevy pickup - light purple in colour

Posted under BC 52

If you met us at the Ladner show, quite likely Boyd & Sue were there.

Yes I remember him and I did meet him and his truck. Are people going to his celebration in their trucks?

Sue has requested we bring our Trucks. She has made arrangements to get Boyd's 52 out there, I will bring my 40, and I believe there are a few other friends that will bring their Trucks & Rod's
