Got a big history of vehicles over the year's, latest addition, which came to me last year, is a 1946 1/2 ton chevy truck
Its still wearing original paint, whats left of it, I've started to get it on the road, still some things to do, parts to source etc
I'm going to be asking a few questions over the next few weeks, off to work in Utah from next week, so a good chance for me to pick up some parts without shipping and tax!

Congrats on a great find! Do you know the history of your truck? I see it has 5-stud front wheels, so someone along the way modified that. Does it still have a 216 Stovebolt 6? Is it an American truck imported in to the UK (left hand drive) or a truck built for export into UK (right hand drive)? Good luck with your Chevy. Have fun, safely!
Yes, its still got the 216 motor in it, was running before it got to me, I've had it turning over, once I cleaned the contact on the starter, not had fuel up to carb yet.
Five stud wheel on the front is because it's had front disc conversion whilst in USA. The wheel you can see is not what should be on it, its got a pair of 15" smoothies but one wasn't holding air, so the wheel you can see was fitted. It was once owned by a tyre store, they fitted a different tail gate and it looks cool! There is a big piece of check pate in the bed, thats nearly out now, original boards are under that, I will replace them at some point. The rear fender you can see in the photos has now been removed
It's a really solid truck, previous owner had started to spend some money, front discs, new gas tank, new cooling hoses, rebuilt carb, dizzy and coil.
All glass is shot but it came with new glass, not yet fitted. Nearly finished the cab door windows and the front frame is out now, just got to drill out the bolts that snapped in the joining strip that holds the frames together and get a new centre strip
I've rewired most of it, all lights are working now, added a bit of bling at the back with LED rear lights. Park lights are now turn signals, just need the lenses for them
I'm leaving UK on Friday, in Utah for a few weeks, will be buying parts whilst there
colour looks to be 339, two tone colour, seafoam green and volunteer green, not much paint left, but some of what is left comes up well Can see the different green on the doors
Can't seem to find many pictures of what it would have looked like when new! Can anybody help?
Tony, the question about color would be best answered in the Paint and Body Forum.... and any other technical questions as not everyone come through the Welcome Centre when they sign in.....hope this tip helps.... and by the way, looks like you'll have this truck "on the road" soon.
