Well after 3 years of looking, found myself a 261 to rebuild, it is a complete running engine. Made me a pretty happy camper. Going to go in my 53 1/2 ton. Steve

Replaced a torn wiper blade. Tightened the power steering pulley and added some Loctite. Trimmed back the heat insulation so that it’s all hidden by the carpet. ðŸ›

Working on installing a Holley 600 on my 250 6 cylinder. Doing a conversion of the carb per Tom at 12bolt.com instructions. It converts it to a 3 barrel; 1 primary and 2 secondaries. I just got a call that the Clifford intake has been blasted and ready to pick up. Now to get the carb back together. Then the fun of figuring out all that need to come together to get it on the truck and working. I'm keeping track the process on my blog; https://myol66.wordpress.com/.
Planned to address some valve lash on my ‘46. Truck stalled out while warming the motor due to some carb issues. So, I temporarily fixed a carb on the side of the road, limped home, and ordered a rebuild kit.
Spent some time under the hood sealing up all the little and not so little holes in the firewall. Places where screws were removed or where a harness of sorts went through. Around the steering column and the brake booster mount. Trying to cut down on the drafts in the cab around our knees and feet. Chasing gremlins in the turn signal wiring. The connector at the base of the steering column was the culprit. Re-did the wires eliminating the connector and all is well.

Finally had good weather in the U.P. of Michigan today and set my cab on the frame!!! Have a little more room in the shop now and can maybe start working outside on the truck once in a while.
Got my new windshield wiper RainGear installed not a bad deal to install! Now putting in my Vintage Air system inside of cab coming together nicely! There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Been doing a bit of rust management on the ‘62 C-10 this week. Just hitting the surface rust spots with a rattle can spray of primer. Found a can of Safety Blue and did a little coverup on the front facing sheet metal. Hoping to hold the rust mites at bay while I save up for a proper paint job. Off to the “Oklahoma Stovebolt GabFest” in a couple of hours. It’ll be fun meeting some new Bolters and catching up with the familiar faces. Watch for photos in the “Hot Wash Forum”.

Installed my horn bushing in the steering column on my 37. Took all day as I spent half the time thinking about it. Tried to push the bushing in with steering wheel nut but that didn't work out. Finally pulled the entire steering column with gear box and used a threaded rod to push in bushing. Installed steering wheel and new horn button and moved outside column down a little bit to get contact when button was pushed. Glad that job is done.
New distributor, new coil, and a new starter. She runs really well. Time to tackle gauges. My lights and signals and brake light all work, no gauges work, or wipers.
JiMerit, Do you have a few more pictures of that spare carrier?

The Vintage Air system all most done. Spent 2 days while it rained here working on taping off the front emblems to paint! My paint store owner and great friend did a wonderful job matching the orange. Getting ready to order an air brush kit! Danger Wil Roberts Danger!
We’re into the 5th day of having new tile flooring put down throughout 100% of the house. It looks like a tornado came through! Today they tackled the last room..... our master bedroom, and now there’s no place to go! The Mrs. is physically worn out and after I’d washed it she asked if I’d pull the old truck in the shade. She crawled up in the cab and fell fast asleep.

Still bleeding brakes ... it's like there's a gallon of sludge stored in these lines. Afraid to even touch the master cyl - ( other than topping off fluid ) it's a blob of rust.
I’d be afraid I would pack more crud into the lines unless you know for sure that won’t happen. Replacing a master cylinder is a bunch raiser than replacing brake lines.
Been chasing one electrical gremlin after another since I completed this years section of the Resto-Mod on the ‘62 C-10. I would get the 4 way flashers fixed and move on to a finicky left front turn signal and in the process of fixing that the 4 way would quit. Then the horn quit while at the GabFest last month. Today I was determined to fix all the signal/flasher/horn problems once and for all. Cleaned grounds again and checked the circuit for the turn signal. Had flashing power to the socket but the bulb wouldn’t flash. Worked over the pins on the base of the bulb with a pair of pliers to raise them up a bit thus making better contact. It worked, I now have 4 ways and turn signals on every corner. On to the horn. Bypassed the relay and the aftermarket klaxon horn worked but the factory horn was DOA. None of the FLAPS had a relay so I had O’Reillys bring one over from one of the OKC stores. Installed the new relay, hooked up the klaxon and left the factory horn disconnected. Legal again. Fingers crossed that the repairs will hold this time.ðŸ›

Martin, a trick I've used on old horns is to turn the tone adjustment screw while someone holds the horn button down. Amazingly enough the two steps have to be done together for results.
The above is assuming all the dirt dabber nest have been removed.
I didn’t have an assistant to help with the horn adjustment. The Klaxon works and the original awaits further testing/adjustments/replacement. We do have a Dirt Dabber problem so I will have to check that. Thanks
