To install new glass run channels will I have to remove the vent window or is there a trick where I can get the channels in with the glass still installed? Or a trick to removing the glass without disassembling the vent windows?
I've done '50 doors before with 1-piece windows; it was easy to remove the glass by tilting it. I don't see how I can do that with wind wing division bars in the way. How about it Alvin - I know you've done this!

I glued my channel in and its held now for 5 years or more. I did the driver side first and it took me an hour and a few tries to get it in and to get the window glass fitted in the wing vent channel as I had to sort of "twist" the frame a little.....and naturally, the other side went smooth as silk.
I can look at mine later but its my opinion that if that is all your replacing you can do it without taking the assembly out. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 4,252 "Hey! Thanks, but that's kinda "good news, bad news" - It's the unbolting that's the hard part! I guess I may as well remove it to get it out of my way :-(

Glue or similar, you might be able to leave the wing window somewhat in place. If though, you plan to rivet in the new channel, I 'd think removal would be necessary.
