If so please tell me the process and where to get the spring. Thanks, Harold

They are his part number MET137. Document by camera the orientation of the broken spring, then grind off the rivet holding the spring. Replace spring and use a bolt, rivet screw or rivet to replace the rivet you just removed. I had a blacksmith make me a rivet the last time I had to do this so it would look sort of original. You’re asking about reverse lockout on the model before the SM420 in 1948. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,839 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,839 | Is this the spring that helps hold the shift lever rod in place, aka: shifter retention spring? If so, at worst case I'm sure you can find another compression spring at a local hardware store.
