But the NAPA will last a lot longer than most. I read somewhere, if you heat the manifold up with a torch from the inside, than paint it, the paint last a lot longer.
I think Jet Hot makes a good header coating that is applied that way.

It's cheap($5.00 can) & comes in several colors. I stock up on sales too. I don't recall the temps it will withstand, but it fairly high. There were three colors on the shelf. The one I purchased was a dull silver grey. I sand blasted my manifold, and painted it. It looks like cast iron, and has not come off yet. I did this in May I think. Also I haven't run the truck but a couple of times in the last two months, as I was replacing all the glass and rubber in the cab, Plus I repainted the interior, new seat covers and so it goes.
