Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2017 Posts: 82 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2017 Posts: 82 | I looked at a 52 Chevrolet 3100 panel truck today , I must say it looked pretty solid ,not perfect or finished inside but defiantly solid. there was some surface rust in a couple places, but again solid. there was scale type rust on the frame , but it too was solid metal. it has a 1958 235 ci. engine , with a 3 on the tree. one thing it is lacking is a heater system. so my question is how difficult and expensive would it be to put one in ? It was really fun because it was first time I have ever driven a column shift !! I have driven semi's with 13 speeds but never a 3 on tree . I kinda liked it!! .

Even if it left the factory as a heater delete vehicle. You should be able to locate an orig. heater & rebuild it without a big effort or cost depending on which heater you want. Probably around 200 to 300 bucks complete. ** | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | "Even if it left the factory as a heater delete vehicle. Even if it left the factory with standard equipment - no heater.
The 47-55nd heater was an RPO or an accessory. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,398 Former Workshop Owner | | Former Workshop Owner Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,398 | Don't let the lack of a heater scare you away. If the rest is in good shape and at a decent price, jump on it before it gets away. Adding a heater is very minor compared to welding in new floors and patch panels.

Wendell, and Moderators, this is not an offer to sell.....or I'd put it in swap meet. This is just info for OP. Wendell, if you decide you'd like a heater I have the one out of my 52 panel, blasted and painted with new 12 volt motor, ranco rebuilt that I may not use. It does need a heater core and I have the old one.

I would like a complete unit that was like the one that came with my "52 or compatible . is the old heater core you have any good or would it be smarter to find a replacement? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 | Careful Wendell, you are stepping into forbidden territory. Offering to buy, sell, trade, barter or otherwise swap parts is a no no in all forums but the Swap Meet. Just conduct such matters solely through Private Messages, problem solved.
