Well, that's what I get for not writing down what I read..........I'm almost certain that I read a post in this forum a few days (weeks?) ago where someone discussed a "rebuilt" Rochester B and talked about how they were re-manufactured and tested by a Canadian company, all at a reasonable cost. This is what happens when you procrastinate. OK, I'm ready for all the Rochester carb bashing...........go ahead and yell at me. Maybe the next time I drive by Eldon, Missouri (yeah, at least a dozen times or more a year) I'll stop at The Carburetor Shop and get some re-education.

Rock auto. They use a company in Canada for their rebuilds. I have purchased several carbs form them over the last three years. All have been perfect right out of the box.

I don't know about the Canadian company but I can tell you about a guy on eBay. His username is betsyb10, he has rebuilt two of mine, one I am running now and one I have carefully packed away for the future. He rebuilds one at a time, and they work perfectly. Oh and it was $60 and the rides. This guy has 30+ years doing this, you can send him a message, his rebuild auctions are rare.

I'll take a guess the Canadian company being referenced is Autoline Products:

Mine had red tags attached to the air horns. I wonder if American vendors remove them?

Yes, Autoline! I have purchased them outright, with an exchange, and just recently did a send in a rebuild. They all came out nice and ran right out of the box, and at a fair price.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

An autoline rebuilt R1-BC for a 57 235, with powerglide or standard trans, $110 with a core exchange. $205 outright.
